I was looking at Jeremiah 15:19-20 this morning. The verses I was looking at spoke much to me. I want to share these verses with you from two translations. I pray you find the verses challenging without my interpretation.
Therefore thus says the Lord [to Jeremiah]: If you return [and give up this mistaken tone of distrust and despair], then I will give you again a settled place of quiet and safety, and you will be My minister; and if you separate the precious from the vile [cleansing your own heart from unworthy and unwarranted suspicions concerning God’s faithfulness], you shall be My mouthpiece. [But do not yield to them.] Let them return to you—not you to [the people]. 20 And I will make you to this people a fortified, bronze wall; they will fight against you, but they will not prevail over you, for I am with you to save and deliver you, says the Lord. Jeremiah 15:19-20 {Amplified Classic}.
So the Lord said this to me: ‘If you turn back to me, I will help you to be strong. Then you can continue to serve me. Speak valuable words instead of useless words. Then you can speak on my behalf. These people must change to be like you have been. You must not change to become like them. When these people attack you, I will make you like a strong wall. You will be like a wall that is made of bronze. The people will not be able to knock you down. I will be with you to protect you. I will keep you safe.’ That is what the Lord says. Jeremiah 15:19-20 {Easy English Bible}.
