Mum and Daughter – raw material and producer
31st July 2018
Some couple of years ago, I felt the need to develop a curriculum for girls as my daughter was growing. I saw the need not only to teach the Bible to my children, but to weave the same into their being.
There are many things the girl child needs to know, and the mother is in a better position to help such child. She is given a role of polishing her daughter until she becomes a pillar that will indeed beautify the palace.
Ps 144: 12b must become a life verse for mothers of girls, the verse says “and our daughters will be like pillars to adorn a palace.” (NIV)
This verse is broken down into our daughters becoming pillars that beautify or adorn the palace. A chart that keeps my heart focused on this is like this:
- Daughters are God’s raw materials to mothers.
- Mothers are God’s producers who get their hands dirty in shaping, moulding and carving their daughters with the intention to produce pillars.
- The product of mothers’ labour on their girls will be pillars.
- The consumer of these girls is the palace, and this could mean whatever God has in store for their future.
- The usage is to adorn.
But between now, the future, and their usage, mothers must get down to work and begin to raise their daughter/daughters intentionally, you must see your daughter as a project God has released into your hands, and labour till God receive the pillar that He looks forward to from your hand. Start praying for God’s help in this project.
Not in your own strength for it is God who is all the while effectually at work in you [energizing and creating in you the power and desire, both to will and to work for His good pleasure and satisfaction and delight.
