31st July 2018
Make our sons in their prime like sturdy oak trees. Ps144:12a {Msg}. Some couple of years ago, my heart was burdened for our boys, I therefore started an unfinished curriculum for boys tagged, “Sturdy oak” Here is an excerpt:
Oak Symbolism
The oak tree is used as a symbol by a number of political parties. It is the symbol of the Conservative Party in the United Kingdom, and formerly of the Progressive Democrats in Ireland. In the cultural arena, the oak leaf is the symbol of the National Trust (UK) and The Royal Oak Foundation. (Info from Wikipedia)
God Himself is seeking for young boys with whom He can make symbols with in their generations just as He did with Joseph.
Oak wood has a density of about 0.75 g/cm3, great strength and hardness, and it’s very resistant to insect and fungal attack because of its high tannin content.
There is a need of young boys who would carry the strength that is in Christ Jesus (1John 4:4). The nature of what they carry (Jesus) can make them resistant to any fungal attack. These fungal attacks could be the fungal of media, friends, peer pressure, etc.
Oak trees are a common tree with hundreds of applications. Oak trees produce acorns that can be used in certain foods and beverages, wood that is used in various types of construction. They are used in natural medicines. The possibilities that you’ve encountered something made of oak at some point in your life is quite high.
In your mother son relationship, can we believe God to raise through you sturdy oaks?
