Constraining Christ before the rain comes

In Matthew 7:24-27 KJV, we read, Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock: And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell not: for it was founded upon a rock. And every one that heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them not, shall be likened unto a foolish man, which built his house upon the sand: And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell: and great was the fall of it.

Though both the house built on the rock and on sand experienced rain, what distinguishes them is what became of them during the raining season.  For the one built on sand the scripture says the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell: and great was the fall of it.  Rain fell on the house on sand and it could not stand but fell. This is like a life that has not constrained Christ before the rain falls.

The word constrain means to compel, restrict, require etc. A woman who may have everything and no Christ has no foundation to stand upon for life seasons. And life seasons comes and go, but they that constrain Christ stand firm in Him.

For the house that was built on the rock, though it experienced rain, yet, it withstood the rain and the battering of the same. Rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell not: for it was founded upon a rock.

This is what it means to constrain Christ, it is to build your life on Christ, the solid Rock. The fact that your life is built on Christ does not mean difficulty will not arise, but you have the assurance of standing, and standing well.

Reader, none of us is free from the difficulties of life, but we are free from being tied down to our difficulties as we constrain ourselves to Christ.

What are you still waiting for? Are you going to constrain Him who gave His life for you at Calvary? In Him is all we need to face the rain and flood of life.
