This week, I felt inspired by my sister, Elna, who wrote a song for Easter, and I was moved to write a psalm on the names of God. May you find it inspiring and edifying as you grow in your knowledge of Him in this Easter season and thereafter.
My Psalm on the names of God
Oh magnify the name of the lord with me, let us exalt His name together.
Oh Lord my God, how excellent is Your name in all the earth
Your name is all encompassing
You are:
Elohim – My Creator
Jehovah – My Lord God
Elshaddai – my supplier
Adonai – my Master
Alpha and Omega – My beginning and my end
Abba – My Father
Emmanuel – God with me
El -Roi – The One who sees me
Oh magnify the name of the Lord with me.
Let us exalt His name together.
I will praise Your name Oh Lord with my whole heart.
My tongue is the pen of a ready writer – ready to sing praises to Your name.
Oh, how I love Your name.
While I live and have my being, I will continually magnify Your name.
Oh magnify the name of the Lord with me,
Let us exalt His name together
For His name is highly exalted above all other names.
His name is a strong tower, and in His name is safety.
Therefore, come, magnify the name of the Lord with me.
