My heart disposition in regard of encouraging others

So search your hearts every day, my brothers and sisters, and make sure that none of you has evil or unbelief hiding within you. For it will lead you astray, and make you unresponsive to the living God. Hebrews 3:12 TPT

I think the above scriptural reference stood out for me. Encouraging others or discouraging others daily happens as a reflection of my heart condition. When dissatisfied with my children’s effort, husband’s effort, colleagues attitudes and so on, my action will reveal the state of my heart.

I must take notice of Prov4:23 that I should guard my heart. So, Lord, help me to see to it that my heart is daily encouraged and nourished at Your feet, so that I can be a daily source of encouragement to others.

We live in a discouraging world, an environment void of Christ, but through Christ indwelling us, our chats, voicemails, text messages, WhatsApp status, Instagram,  speeches, emails, responses, and body language will be a huge encouragement to those within and without the church.

The church in our time has the need of Barnabas’ (sons and daughters of encouragement).

A heart guarded in and by God’s word will bring encouragement to others as she prays for those who are depressed, those going through marital issues, social services, housing need, homelessness etc. to also find encouragement in God.

May our hearts reveal the encouragement that is in God’s heart for those around us. Amen!
