Sell your garment and buy a sword

Then said he unto them, But now, he that hath a purse, let him take it, and likewise his scrip: and he that hath no sword, let him sell his garment, and buy one. Luke22:36

We have come to a time in our generation when women multiply clothes, shoes and bags but lack the personal possesion of the word of God.
We have come to a point in our time when women lack knowledge of God’s Word. We have come to a time when women have no knowledge of what God says concerning their time. We live in a time when men who preach are making void God’s Word.

The situation around our world seems to be getting tougher and tougher, many of our governments are introducing laws that contradict the scriptures.
And it is in the midst of this that I am saying to you to get life priorities right. There is no better time to get acquainted with the word of God than now. Have you a Bible in your home?

Jesus said in that Luke 22:36 that he that hath no sword, let him sell his garment, and buy one.
This means that the personal possession of a sword (The Bible) is very very important. For how do we wage war against the enemy of our souls if we trivialise the Word of God?

Perhaps, you have a Bible but have no time to open it, nor to read it, not to talk of study the same, if so, now is the time for you to lay hold on the Bible.
That phrase sell his garments could mean for you to put away other things that take priority over possessing the word of God.
It could mean creating deliberate time to discover God in the pages of the Bible.
As you go about your activities today, this week, this month and this year, will you make it your priority to sell all that hinders you to have a Bible, or all that hinders you to engage God in His word, and then relate and discover God in His word?
