How do we take oversight of the earth?
Last time, we spoke of God’s intention for mankind to take oversight of the earth for Him. Maybe you are confused as to how you can ever take oversight having submitted yourself to the lordship of Christ. The same scripture in Jer 1:10 tells us how to take oversight.
God who desires you to take oversight also put in place what is needed for you to carry this out. The first step is dealing with what the enemy has already done while you were sleeping, that is, while you were not taking oversight. This is where Jer 1:10 says root out and pull down, to destroy and to overthrow.
While men slept the enemy came and plant tares, Matthew 13:25-30. We were all once spiritually asleep once upon a time. And having been brought back to life, there is the need to arise and be active. You need to put things in place to stop the further activities of the devil. See, I have this day appointed you to the oversight of the nations and of the kingdoms to root out and pull down, to destroy and to overthrow. Jer1:10
How do you take oversight?
The first thing to do is to Root out. This means uproot everything that the enemy has sown in your life, home, children, husband, nation etc. And the best way to do this is first in prayer, and as you prayerfully uproot mannerism and habits in your family, or decisions and laws in your nation, then God may begin to put into your heart what to do practically. Do not be in a haste to address a matter without first handling it in God’s presence.
The next thing is to Pull down. Again, we pull down arguments, 2 Corinthians 10:5 says casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalt itself against the knowledge of God…… We pull these arguments down in the place of prayer. You can take affairs of your nation, people, family, children and yourself to God in prayer. Are there habits that you have cultivated and that are now destroying your life or family life? Take it to the Lord in prayer and trust God to give you a word to apply to your heart over that situation.
Afterwards, you destroy. We are seeing that it is not enough to root out and pull down, but you also need to destroy what the enemy planted while you were once asleep. Are you under a particular addiction? Maybe it is wrong movies, books, songs, then, burn those things just like the people in Ephesus did. Acts 19:19. This might also mean confiding in someone who might help you, do not keep any addiction as a secret to yourself, find someone to speak to, so that the addiction can be dealt with.
Finally, the scripture in Jer 1:10 advised us to Overthrow. That means having rooted out, pulled down and burnt, then, overthrow, if you have put away an addiction or a habit, then, replace it with a good habit, in so doing you are overthrowing.
It is my prayer that as a woman in such a time as this, you will indeed take oversight over your world, nation, marriage, family and your very life.
