Proving God – Light is proved in darkness

When you go through deep waters, I will be with you. When you go through rivers of difficulty, you will not drown.  When you walk through the fire of oppression, you will not be burned up; the flames will not consume you. For I am the Lord, your God, the Holy One of Israel, your Savior. I gave Egypt as a ransom for your freedom; I gave Ethiopia and Seba in your place. Is 43:2-3.

Few days ago, I had the privilege to see a dad and daughter arguing whether what they saw on the sky was moon or not. It dawned on me that you do not appreciate the usefulness or the impact of light when there is light, you only do so when there is darkness.

Do you know that this is also how it works with us as believers? When we go through tough times in life, it is usually like we are in darkness. This state of darkness is a time when we prove the efficacy of light.

Many times, when we are not in need we do not fully know nor prove the efficacy of the word of God. Do you know that Hannah is the only one who can explain the darkness she went through in her matrimonial home? Do you also know that she is the only one who can really explain the scripture that says ‘’none shall be barren’’ Deut7:14?

What we need to know is that God never promised that we will not have difficulties in life. Difficulties are not to defile us or tear our lives apart, but they are to prove God.
A life that has never waited on the Lord for the fruit of the womb may never know that there is a scripture that says, “children are heritage from the Lord’’. Ps127:3.

A marriage that has never been through challenges will never know that ‘’what God has joined together let no man put asunder Matt19:6.
A man or woman who has never waited on the Lord for a life partner may never know the scripture “None shall lack their mate’’. Is 36:14.

More so, a life that never has infirmity may never know the scripture ‘’By His stripes we are healed” Is 53:5. I can go on and on.
The reason why God allows so many things in our lives is to bring to us the many privileges that we have in His Word and as we present His Word to Him, He glorifies Himself.

The Palmist says “Thy word is a lamp unto my feet and a light unto my path”
Have you been waiting on Him to prove Himself to you in one area or the other? Remember Abraham waited for many years before he received the promised son.

Men may mock you, the enemy may discourage you, but I’ll say to you that “they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength”. Is 40:31.
Pick up His words in dark times and let it lighten your path. Light rules over the darkness, therefore the word of God rules over all our challenges.

The generations that proved God are the generations that knew, understood, applied and obeyed God’s word in all prevailing Circumstances.
